Ok, so even I am confounded by my complete pokiness. Actually its not that I'm pokey as much as I have had very little time for scrapbooking or designing or setting up my new store for the last three + weeks. I'm hoping that will change very, very soon! UGH...I though I would be all done with that already!
What's been taking all my time you ask? Well my youngest just finished up his first baseball season, wow, that was something else. I had no idea what I was in for. It was a short season (six weeks), with 2, 3 even 4 games some weeks. Then we had the post season tournament, which his team actually made it to the championship game, and then lost...don't get me started there, because I'm not cool with the loss. We learned the next evening at the team awards dinner that his little team was actually slated #1 all season and was the team every other team was gunning to beat...which explains the somewhat underhanded tactics taken by the other team at the championship game. But again don't get me started. My little guy fell in love with baseball, and that makes it a success in my book. It was his first time ever playing and he went from not being able to hit at all at the start of the season, to hitting them into the grass(grounders). And I found that at this age, baseball is an exceptionally thrilling sport to watch, because there really is quite a bit of skill involved in it as opposed to some of the swarm sports my kids have played before. He was able to complete one run all season and I have no picture of it, as I was so excited that all I got in the viewfinder was some blurry feet. Oh well. I think there will be more chances in the spring.

So needless to say as exciting as the baseball season was, I am glad to have a break for a while. I'm hoping we can just say no to winter sports and start up something in the spring. My oldest is doing drama and chess and of course we have the daily political conversations....I'll be so glad when the election is over and we can get on with the next phase, regardless of whose elected. I feel like we've been in some sort of a campaign limbo for the last year or so. And being a "battleground" state, we are being overwhelmed with radio, tv, web and even facebook ads! One more week and the ads go away.
Speaking of facebook...is anyone else beginning to believe that there is some hypnotic element to the facebook experience. I am so productive until I visit facebook...and suddenly I am sucked into a plethora of "applications". Do I really need to blow a virtual horn to remove an animated oil tanker out of my friend's sea garden? Really? And I need to see the downline as to how my sending sea creatures and garden plants to my friends are saving rainforests and ocean areas. I'm just not sure how that works(cause it costs me nothing to do it, where does the money come from?)....more global warming marketing, I'm sure. I'll save my ideas about global warming for a different day.
Don't get me wrong...I'm for smart choices and not being wasteful, plant a tree, recycle, all that. I just feel that the "green" movement has gone the way of "fat free", "low carb", "just say no" etc...Its become a major marketing tool and has a huge wallet behind it and is now more about a global political agenda. Plus I'm not sold that we have caused it....don't confuse that with a lack of caring about the environment....I'm having a hard time believing all the global warming propaganda that we are evil and ruining the earth. Here's what I believe and its based in fact not feeling....the earth is a living, breathing object that we have documented for millions and millions of years as having ice ages, hot periods, warming and cooling eras, we just had no one on earth with the technology to observe and transfer data from one side of the earth to the other instanaeously until recently. Personally I think its the sun, it continues to grow, as all stars do and our rotation around it is shrinking year by year. I think that's going to make us a bit warmer, don't you think? Think I'm nuts? Check out this series I found, there are eight parts to it posted on youtube. Sorry, I promised to save my ideas, but I spilled anyway. I know its not a Politically Correct statement to make, but I find the older and wiser I become, the less I focus on being politically correct. Regardless, I do my part to teach my kids to respect the earth and not be wasteful...plus as a digital scrapbooker, I'm saving trees:)
